Many people have satellite TV to give them the variety of channels that they want to watch. Especially in rural areas, where cable TV is not economically viable, this has become easy and relatively inexpensive. However, are you aware that this dish network satellite gives you access to far more than just TV?

Dish Network Satellites can Give You Access to Your ISP Provider

Satellite TV uses a network of satellites to direct its signals to give coverage over a large geographical area. You receive a signal by pointing a dish with an antenna (or horn) in the middle. The dish helps to focus the signal onto the antenna, and the signal is then carried to your decoding box which then delivers the decoded signal to your TV.

Increasingly, you will use a dish network satellite that is capable of sending signals from your dish back to the satellite, so making your TV interactive. Once you have this two-way communication equipment, you can start to think about other applications such as internet provision.

Internet and Phone through a Satellite

Many people are now using an ISP provider that operates using wireless connections through dish network satellites. Once you start having access to the Internet with this kind of broadband connection, you can start thinking about the use of e-mail, access to the Internet, and voice phone service over IP telephony.

However, in order to be able to run this technology mutually, skilled technicians are required. The demand for technicians with wireless training is rising exponentially, and gaining certification in wireless network technologies as well as satellite technology is worthwhile.

Many technology schools offer courses on signal processing, as well as the more practical certification, giving students the kind of technical background that increases their technical problem solving skills.

Wireless Training Helps You Stay Connected

If you are looking to change your career, or to increase your skills and knowledge in this area, you could really benefit from considering studying an online program in this area. Online degrees in IT have specializations in wireless training, giving you the kind of technical background that allows you to understand the other technologies that you may encounter in your networking job.

The ability to understand and maintain technologies that interconnect and create new products is going to be more and more valuable over the next few years as new products are created that are the result of working with several different areas of technology.

Anyone with wireless training is going to be particularly valuable, as this is a connecting technology that will be used in a whole host of applications that allow users to access information and services in any situation and in most geographical locations.

These technologies are spawning new products, and therefore new job opportunities. You need to be able to acquire skills that will allow you to keep up with the new wired world.

In our next installment of "The Wireless Networked World," we'll take a look at how wireless networking has changed the healthcare and information technology fields.
