Just when you thought The Apprentice couldn't get any better and Trump couldn't get any more devious, he shocks everyone by firing four contestants at one time. All of the four contestants had university project management training and their performance in one of the team challenges forced Trump to send them home.

If these people have project management training, they must have missed the class where you learn not to piss off the boss. And that's exactly what four contestants on The Apprentice did that got them sent home from the show. In one of the major team competitions, the losing team actually dropped sales by 34% and lost the entire competition by over 100%. Trump said it was the worst defeat in the show's brief history. He concluded the negative boardroom sessions by dismissing the four hopefuls with a wave of his hand.

Earning an "F" in Project Management

  • Sporting Competition. Charged with creating an interactive sales event in the sport of choice, the teams were vying to sell products for the well-known athletic company Dick's Sporting Goods.
  • Accepting Blame. The project management professional in charge of the losing team accepted the responsibility for defeat and admitted the members weren't moving in the right direction.
  • Winning Concept. The winning group created a sales experience based on the sport of golf, which they knew nothing about.

The fast-paced world of project management can be incredible appealing for a candidate who has received focused training in the field. You can get accredited project management training from colleges and universities in your area. You can also earn your project management training credentials through an online program that holds many benefits over the traditional campus environment.

Project management Training

  • Environment. Once completing your project management training, you will be working in the boardroom coming up with the next big campaign.
  • Outlook. There will always be a need for project management training graduates who are determined to succeed in the field.
  • Education. Your project management training program is typically a two to four year program followed by an internship in your discipline.
