Article, Chronicle for Higher Education, P.8, April 29

Colin McGinn, a philosophy professor at Rutgers University, has recently decided to leave the school because he didn't want to spend another winter in the Northeast. He instead accepted a professorship in philosophy at the University of Miami, and has said he will pursue his interest in water sports.

Rutgers has a great reputation in philosophy, which currently ranks #2 in the nation. The University of Miami's philosophy department has not cracked the top 40 in recent surveys. McGinn claimed that Rutgers was not always a philosophy powerhouse, and that it built its reputation over the last decade. He hopes to build a similar reputation in Miami.
