Robert Weisbuch was recently hired to become the president of Drew University, a reputable college in New Jersey. Weisbuch will be the first Jew to ever hold this position at the institution formed around the teachings of the United Methodist Church. He will take over the job from former New Jersey Governor Thomas Kean, who was called upon to serve on the commission that investigated the September 11 attacks.
Weisbuch mentioned that one of his goals for the school was to increase diversity, both from a cultural and religious standpoint. He also wants to increase funding for the school's science program. Weisbuch will leave his position as president of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation to join the school. Prior to his work with the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, Weisbuch was an English professor at the University of Michigan.
